FUNDRAISING is an integral part of HHBF’s financial success. It allows us to fund the daily activities of our club, purchase necessary supplies and equipment and provide enrichment through organized activities and events. (see below for full list)
How Can You Earn Back Your Fundraising Deposit?
This season each family will have a fundraising target ranging from $50 (Intro) to $200 (Seniors). You can earn back your fundraising deposit by participating in our fundraising events. This chart will help you determine how many fundraising events you need to participate in, to earn your full deposit back. You do not need to raise a specific dollar amount per event, you need only participate fully in the event as outlined by the event coordinators.**
| Swim Level | Fundraising Commitment | Number of fundraising events the family needs to participate in to earn their deposit back |
| Masters / Jr. Masters | $50 | 1 |
| Intro | $50 | 1 |
| Intro-Comp | $75 | 2 |
| Squad 2 | $150 | 3 |
| Squad 1 | $150 | 3 |
| Senior Squad | $200 | 4 |
| Senior Extended | $200 | 4 |
** event participation requirements will be communicated at the start of any given event.
Some of the events planned for this year include:
CHOCOLATE SALES*
In September we’ll be selling Purdy’s chocolates. Your co-workers, clients, friends and family will know and trust Purdy’s quality. They are so delicious that they simply sell themselves. *Each box of chocolates counts as a separate event.
TAG DAYS
We will have tag days in the fall and spring this season. This is an amazing opportunity for the swimmers to promote our swim club. We have received generous support and donations from the members of our community in previous years.
Other organized activities throughout the year. In the past we have had Casino night, May Marketplace. Fundraising activities for the 2013-2014 season will be announced at the beginning of the season.
Other Fundraising Events (not eligible for fundraising deposit return)
SWIM-A-THON
The purpose of a Swim-a-Thon is to raise money for our club through swimmer’s participation in a marathon swim. Swimmers can obtain pledges for so much per length swum or a pre-determined amount. Swim-a-thon will take place in March. It’s a major national fundraising project and an excellent method of raising funds for our club. However, due to the regulations imposed by Swim Ontario, the body that governs the Swim-a-Thon program, we are not able to refund any portion of your fundraising deposit based on Swim-a-Thon contributions.
